OWL for children in SK, Grade 1 & Grade 2
An empowering sexuality education program for children ages 5-8 (born 2009, 2010, 2011)
Our Whole Lives: Sexuality Education for Grades SK-2 can help you educate your child about birth, babies, bodies, and families. You will be actively involved as your child learns through songs, stories, activities and at-home projects that promote family dialogue.
Our Whole Lives (OWL) values
- Self Worth
- Sexual Health
- Justice and Inclusivity
In nine, one‐hour workshops, OWL models and teaches caring, compassion, respect, and justice. It helps young children identify their attitudes, values, and feelings about themselves, their sexuality, and others’ sexuality. Participants in Grades SK‐2 are guided by trained facilitators, Arthur & Linda Herold, through an engaging curriculum that addresses age appropriate topics. At home projects keep parent‐child communication open. The OWL curriculum for this age group enhances what children enrolled in the public school system in Peterborough will be learning in grades 1 and 2.
