UU Leadership Institute

A great new Leadership Learning Resource

The UU Leadership Institute is a new “practical seminary” for UU lay leaders! Whether you’re brand new to Unitarianism or to leadership, or have been a dedicated UU for decades, there’s a great selection of on-line courses now available for only $30 each. Choose from topics such as Healthy Membership, Healthy Leadership, the Importance of Small Congregations, UU History, Marketing, Branding and Communicating, or Finding your Best Stewardship Strategy. This would be a great thing for a small team or committee to do together!

CanU Proofreaders Needed

Have a keen eye? Like to read? Want a sneak preview of the upcoming issue of The CanU Newsletter? The Canadian Unitarian is seeking to enlarge our pool of volunteer proof-readers, to cast fresh eyes and help put critical polish on the twice yearly newsletter of the CUC. The work involves reading a .pdf proof of 24-28 pages, and marking any egregious errors, such as typos, dropped lines, mistakes in grammar, etc. Proof-readers are asked to return their corrections within a 3-day period, before the files go to press. If this is of interest to you, contact raquel@sitedish.com or canu@cuc.ca.

The 22nd Annual Church and Charity Law Seminar

Thu, Nov 12, 2015, 8:30 – 3:30, Portico Community Church in Mississauga

Carters are the leading expert in charity law in Canada, and have been providing excellent legal advice to the CUC. The seminar is always filled with useful and relevant information for charities, presented by experts in the field. The Director General of the Charities Directorate, Cathy Hawara, will be presenting a session called “Challenging Issues for Religious Charities.”
The CUC is offering one free ticket to our congregation. Please contact Scott Donovan if you have an interest in attending.
