Our Lay Chaplains invite people of all cultures, faiths and genders to create a service that reflects who they are as individuals, and the unique partnership they are creating.
Your values, ideals and expectations are the core of the ceremony that our Lay Chaplains will create with you. They are happy to perform ceremonies at your chosen location. Our Lay Chaplains can be contacted by telephone at 705-741-0968, or by e-mail.
Weddings and Commitment Ceremonies
Let us help you create your unique ceremony
Our Lay Chaplains encourage you to participate in planning the details of your ceremony by helping you choose elements such as readings, music, meditations and prayers. They believe that this will result in a ceremony that reflects the personal values and spirituality you share.
Our Lay Chaplains are licensed by the Province of Ontario through the Canadian Unitarian Council.
Funerals, Memorials, Celebrations of Life
At the time of a death, you may find yourself without a Minister or Officiant to guide you. Our Lay Chaplains are available to meet with you to plan and conduct a meaningful funeral or memorial service.
Child Dedication or Naming Ceremonies
Celebrate life and share your joy at the arrival of a new child or recognize important moments in the lives of any of your children. Our Lay Chaplains can help you find the words and rituals to acknowledge this member of your family.
Other Customized Ceremonies
If there are events in your life that you want to celebrate or acknowledge with a special ceremony, our Lay Chaplains are here to assist you. Some possible occasions are:
- Crone or Elder Rituals
- House blessings
- Name changes
- New business
- Pet memorials
- Renewal of vows
- Separation or Divorce
Being a Lay Chaplain is one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. With my background as a counsellor, I am committed to listening carefully with sensitivity and to work with you to create a personal service that is meaningful for you and your loved ones.
“Our time on this earth is sacred, and we should celebrate every moment.”
— Paulo Coelho
I have been shown repeatedly how important it is to couples’ families and their friend communities, to create ceremonies that reflect their values and their understanding of the occasion. I bring my experience in the fields of education and within church congregations to my work as a Lay Chaplain.
To be a Lay Chaplain is to be of service and it is my honour to help you celebrate the most meaningful moments of your life. I bring forward my experience creating unique ceremonies in this role of Lay Chaplain. I am excited to meet you and create your ceremony.
