Last week, in the Flame, Rev. Julie asked, “Did you enjoy your sabbatical? YOUR sabbatical, I mean…the one that offered you a break from the expected and familiar…the one that perhaps called on you to do/be something more…something out of your comfort zone?” (If you missed that article, here’s a link.)

To upset the normal flow of things is to take a risk, and we all risked something while our minister was away. Now she’s back, but before we fall back into old patterns, let’s take a moment to reflect on what we learned, what has changed, and what we’d like to hold onto.
The Community Conversations Team and the Committee on Ministry are offering two ways for you to contribute and offer feedback.

First, you can sit down with Rev. Julie and have a chat. To make this more fun, she’s going have ‘office hours’ at Natas Café (376 George N) to hear how the sabbatical went for you or simply to catch up on what’s been happening in your life. Stop by at any of these times: Tuesday, April 11, 1-3pm; Tuesday, April 18, 10am to Noon; or Friday, April 21, 3-5pm.

Second, all are invited to join a Community Conversation on Sunday, April 23, from 12:30-2pm…to listen, to share, and to learn…about all that was felt and experienced during the sabbatical. The plan is to order veggie pizzas for lunch at 12 noon ($5 suggested donation;) we request your RSVP so we can know how much pizza to order. We’ll gladly arrange childcare upon request. Call the office (705-741-0968) or send an email.
(And, if you can’t attend any of these opportunities for sharing, you can email your thoughts.)

A summary, including Julie’s report on what she did during HER sabbatical, will be available after April 23. We’d love to collect stories and feedback from you all!
