The Fellowship Annual General Meeting is after next Sunday’s service, May 26, with a simple lunch provided. It’s more than a meeting this year. The Board and Co-Visioning Task Force are taking it as an opportunity to connect and catch up in community around some of our “big questions.”
You probably know we’ve been working on deepening our relationship with our Beth Israel partners, while considering a decision about whether this is our “forever home.” A lot of good work has happened in that process this year. We’ll present an update, and explore key parts of it in a small group “table talk” session.
No big decisions are on the table, but a significant next step is. Accessibility in the building has been both a problem and an opportunity, moving the process forward. We cannot stay in the building if it is inaccessible, and we need a long-term arrangement to make a large commitment on accessibility. We have worked closely with Beth Israel on a Trillium Grant proposal to solve this problem, with an elevator.
Your Board and Co-Visioning team will present a motion after the discussion that we put $10,000 towards this project, if and only if the Trillium funding is approved.
And then… What could our arrangement with Beth Israel look like? What would it make possible? What alternatives do you personally need to be part of considering fully, before we put such a choice on the table? This is a significant period in our history, and it needs your ears, inspirations and voices.
Do come! All wanted and welcome, though only Members can vote in the formal meeting.
The UFP Annual Report, notice of motions, and proxy forms to ensure quorum if you truly can’t attend, will be sent out very soon.
