For 199 years, the (Unitarian) Berry Street Essay has been delivered annually to the ‘liberal clergy.’ Its original purpose: the mutual improvement in pastoral duty, and the promotion of truth and holiness.
This year, Rev. Leslie Takahashi was the Berry Street essayist, and she challenged our status quo understandings of truth, trauma, and transformation. Rev. Julie invites you to come and explore the depths and connections woven between and among these themes…along with their poignant, heartbreaking, and hopeful presence in our faith today. We’ll watch a few clips from the essay, and engage in intimate conversation about what it all means for us.
Leader: Rev. Julie Stoneberg
