Message from the UFP Board | December 17, 2021

Hello Beloved UFP Community!

As I am sure you have heard, things are changing again in our pandemic world. At this week’s Board meeting, acting on advice from the Safe Gathering Committee, we made an unavoidable decision based on the presence and spread of the Omicron variant.

We are suspending in-person indoor services and meetings for the foreseeable future. Outside gatherings are being considered okay – as of this publication – given proof of vaccination, good fitting masks and maintaining that safe distance of 6 feet between households.

The good news is that, leaning into the need for both safety and connection, we have learned that it’s possible to be in community in the important ways, albeit online.

Of course, this is disappointing, especially as this is holiday time. Still, we are committed to keeping our community strong and connected while also keeping our community safe and healthy through reducing risk. We are also very much committed to decision making based in evidence, science and best practices.

It was really wonderful to have the experience of a couple of in-person Sundays, and we will get there again, for sure. However, beginning this Sunday, December 19th, our 10am Sunday services will only be offered online until things change again.

Please stay safe and stay connected- we will look forward to seeing you soon!
Stephanie Wildheart on behalf of our UFP Board of Directors
